If you use MySpaceIM to chat with your friends and family, it is doubtful that you want to chat with any and everybody on MySpace. To limit the people that can contact you to only those on your Contact List, follow these steps:

1. Open and login to MySpaceIM.

2. Click File and select Preferences.

3. Select Privacy from the left pane of the Preferences window.

4. Under Who can contact me, select the Only people on my Contact List radio button.

5. Click OK

MySpaceIM: Prevent from Starting When Windows Starts

By default, the instant messenger from MySpace (MySpaceIM) starts when Windows does. If you don’t use MySpaceIM regularly, you are wasting resources by having it run when you don’t need it. To stop MySpaceIM from starting when Windows does:

1. Open and login to MySpaceIM.

2. Click File and select Preferences.

3. Select General from the left pane of the Preferences window.

4. Under Starting Up, uncheck the Start MySpaceIM when my computer starts checkbox.

5. Click OK.

If you use MySpaceIM to chat with your friends and family, it is doubtful that you want everybody on MySpace to know that you’re online. To limit the people that can see when you’re online to only those on your Contact List, follow these steps:

3. Select Privacy from the left pane of the Preferences window.

4. Under Who can see when I’m online, select the Only people on my Contact List radio button.

MySpaceIM: Disable Message History to Stop Saving IM Sessions on your Computer

By default, MySpaceIM saves all of your IM sessions in the Message History. If you never reference back to these chats, it is taking up unnecessary space on your computer. To disable Message History, follow these steps:

1. Open and login to MySpaceIM.

2. Click File and select Preferences.

3. Select Message History from the left pane of the Preferences window.

4. Under Message History, select the Do not save my IMs radio button.

5. Click OK.

Are you tired of people getting too much information about you from your myspace account? Here’s a quick fix to make your profile private.

I am a big friend of myspace; however, many people give out way too much information on their account. If you would like to hide your account from everybody but your friends, you should make your profile private.

If you know somebody is searching myspace looking for information on you, this is a quick way to hide without removing everything in your myspace account.

Disclaimer: To do this, you just set your age below 16. If you lie about your age, you always risk that myspace may kick you off. I have never heard of that occuring, but take your own chances.

1. Log into Myspace
2. Click Home link
3. Click Edit Profile link
4. Click Basic Info tab
5. Click EDIT
6. Change the date to make you less than 16.

MySpace: Remove Last Login from Profile Page

I do not want people viewing my profile to know the last time I was on myspace. Here is how to remove your last login information from your profile page.

This removes the Last Login information from your profile only. If you can find a way to remove it from other pages, please let me know!

1. Click Edit Profile
2. Click Basic Info tab
3. Click the big red Edit button
4. Under the City section paste the following:
[list]
TownName

(Of course, replace TownName with your actual town name.)

5. Click the Submit button
6. Click the View Profile button to test

MySpace: Remove or Hide the Contact Box in your Profile

The contact box is so weak. Here’s how to kill it.
The contact box on myspace is so useless and ugly. One of the first things many profile hackers do is to kill it. Following these directions will allow you to hide it without any side-effects.
1. Click Edit Profile
2. Click Edit for the About Me box
3. Paste this code in:

</style>

4. Click Preview and then Submit
5. Click View My Profile to see your awesome work!
